Spotlight: Sophia's Girl Scout Gold Award Project, "Shining a Light on Skin Cancer"

We are proud to share an exciting initiative from one of our own. Sophia, a Move Your Feet Tennis student, is putting the finishing touches on her Girl Scout Gold Award Project, "Shining a Light on Skin Cancer," a community-focused effort to raise awareness and education around skin cancer prevention among students and youth athletes.

Through her project, Sophia aims to empower young people to adopt smart sun protection habits, build consistent routines, and challenge common myths about skin cancer and the long-term risks of unprotected sun exposure. Her work includes a documentary video featuring our very own Coach Lisa Thomas, and a dedicated website where you can explore the full project.
